HomeMy WebLinkAbout3250 OrdinanceORDINANCE NO. a5-0 AN ORDINANCE of the City of Pasco, Washington amending Section 9.28.030 "Persons Subject to Tax - - Tax Rates" amending tax rates on punch boards, pull tabs, cards and bingo. WHEREAS, the State legislature has by Chapter 394 of the Laws of 1997 changed the basis of imposition of gambling taxes m order to come m compliance with this law, NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO, WASHINGTON DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That Section 9 28 030 entitled "Persons Subject to Tax - - Tax Rates" of the Pasco Municipal Code shall be and hereby is amended and shall read as follows 9.28.030 Persons Subject to Tax - - Tax Rates There is levied upon all persons, associations, and organizations conducting or operating within this jurisdiction any of the activities listed below a tax m the following amounts to be paid to the City, (A) Taxation of punch boards and pull tabs for bonafide charitable or non-profit organizations shall be 10% of the gross receipts from the operations of the games less the amount awarded as cash or merchandise prizes (B ) Taxation of punch boards and pull tabs for commercial stimulant operators shall be 5% of the gross receipt from the operation of the games (C ) Taxation of bmgo and raffles shall be 10% of the gross receipts from a bmgo game or raffle less the amount awarded as cash or merchandise prizes (D) Taxation on social card games shall be 20% of the gross revenue from such games Section 2.
