AN ORDINANCE concerning the program of monetary awards for city
employees, and amending Chapter 2 43 of the Pasco Municipal Code
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that the recommendations of
the City Manager for changes in the program for monetary awards for city employees
is appropriate, Now, Therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO, WASHINGTON, DOES
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
§1. Section 2 43 010 of the Pasco Municipal Code is hereby amended by
the addition of the new category of "employee of the year", which new category
shall read as follows
E EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR
(1) The city manager shall establish a procedure for the selection
of an "employee of the year" for both the uniformed police officers
and the uniformed firefighters In addition, the city manager shall
establish a process for the selection of "employee(s) of the year" for
the non-management employees outside of the uniformed police and fire
services
§2. Section 2 43 020 of the Pasco Municipal Code is hereby amended by
the additional underlined language shown below, together with the deletions shown
by interlineation as follows
2 43 020 ADMINISTRATION Except for the "Suggestion" Awards,
the total annual expenditure for the provision of the awards provided
for herein and the cost of a dinner banquet for the presentation of
such awards shall not exceed the combined total of five ten thousand
dollars
The city manager shall issue administrative rules/procedures for
the administration of this awards program and further defining the
eligibility and criteria for the awards program, not inconsistent with
the requirements set forth herein
§3. This ordinance shall take effect five (5) days after passage and
publication

performance evaluation
and has used at least ten
vacation days during the
calendar year in which the
cash-out is taken
