ATTEST ORDINANCE NO. AN ORDINANCE concerning wages for certam personnel (non-represented) for the calendar year 1993, amending Ordmance No 2915, which passed on December 21, 1992 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: §1. The wage scale for those positions specified in the attached Exhibit I and not represented by a certified bargaining unit, shall be as set forth m Exhibit I attached hereto, which exhibit is incorporated by reference as if fully set forth herem The City Manager shall designate the appropnate hourly wage step in Exhibit I for each employee covered by this ordinance, considenng their time m the position for which they are employed, their current hourly wage, and the evaluation of their performance, provided, however, where the wage of an incumbent m any such position at the conclusion of 1992 is increased by 3 5% and does exceed the maximum wage for the position as set forth in Exhibit I, such employee shall continue to be compensated at his/her ending 1992 wage increased by a 3 5% cost of living adjustment §2. The step increases set forth in Exhibit I are dependent upon a satisfactory performance evaluation If the performance evaluation of an employee demonstrates superior performance and upon recommendation of the department head, the City Manager has the discretion to advance an employee an additional pay step over that step otherwise obtainable by a satisfactory performance evaluation §3. The wage scale for those temporary and seasonal positions specified in the attached Exhibit II not represented by a certified bargaining unit shall be as set forth in Exhibit II attached hereto, which exhibit is incorporated by this reference as if fully set forth herein The actual wage to be received by an employee occupying any of the positions specified in Exhibit II shall be determined by the City Manager §4. The wage scales set forth in both Exhibit I and Exhibit II shall be effective January 1, 1993, and remain m effect until this ordinance is amended or superseded by subsequent ordmance §5. This ordinance supersedes any conflicting pnor ordinance or conflicting provision of a pnor ordinance §6. amending Ordinanc 2916 which passed De cember 21 1992 THE CITY COU CIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO WASHINGTON DO OR DAIN AS FOLLOWS 1 The maximum monthly salaries for management positions shall be as set forth in Exhibit I attached hereto which exhibit is in- corporated by reference as If fully set forth herein The schedule of maximum sala- nes set forth in Exhibit I will be effective January 1 1993 and shall remain ef fective until this ordinance is amended or superseded by subsequent ordinance The actual salary to be re calved by an employee oc cupying a management position shall be deter- mined by the City Manager in an amount no greater than the maximum for the position except as autho nzed herein Where the 1992 actual salary of an in cumbent in any manage- ment position exceeds the maximum salary for the po salon as set forth in Exhibit I such employee shall con tinue to be compensated at his/her actual 1992 salary increased by a 3 5% cost of living adjustment 2 A merit increase may be granted to a city employee employed'', one of the man- agement level positions set forth In Exhibit I at the sole discretion of the City Man- ager and within the follow ing guidelines provided however the total of all merit increases for the year 1993 does not exceed $30 000 00 (a) Any merit increase shall be based solely upon job performance demonstrat ing effort and achievement above and beyond that reg ularly expected of the posi- tion (b) Any merit increase awarded shall be for a tern porary period of time to be determined by the City Manager provided any such merit increase shall expire not later than De- cember 31 1993 3 For payroll purposes only the monthly salaries as set forth in Exhibit I may be multiplied by twelve (12) and divided by two thou- sand eighty (2 080)(number
