HomeMy WebLinkAbout2890 OrdinanceORDINANCE NO. a-Z (3n AN ORDINANCE providing for an mcrease for license, impound and boarding fees, and amending Pasco Municipal Code Chapter 8 04 — Animal Control WHEREAS, upon recommendation from the Benton-Franklin County Humane Society and following public heanng, the city council has determmed that it is appropriate to increase the license, impound and boarding fees, for maintenance of the city's animal control program, NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO, WASHINGTON, DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: §1. Section 8 04 080 of the Pasco Municipal Code is hereby amended to -read as follows 8 04 080 REDEMPTION OF IMPOUNDED DOGS Unless this chapter requires impounding for a longer penod of time, any impounded dog may be redeemed by the owner or authonzed representative of the owner by payment to the poundmaster an impounding fee of fifteen twenty-five dollars and a boarding fee of five seven dollars for each calendar day, full or part, the dog has been confined, including the day on which the dog is first impounded, except that for the second impoundment m a twelve-month penod, the impounding fee shall be twenty-five- thirty-five dollars, for the third and subsequent impoundments m a twelve-month penod, the impounding fee shall be thirty five forty-five dollars If the dog has no valid license tag and one is required, then the owner shall also obtain a license tag for the current year or a duplicate tag in accordance with the provisions of this chapter If unlicensed, proof of a current rabies vaccination must be produced or the license shall be held until such proof is presented If proof is not presented within ten days, it shall be another separate violation of this chapter for each day over ten days that proof is not presented Upon receiving payment of all fees due, the poundinaster shall execute a receipt in duplicate therefor, the ongmal shall be delivered to the owner, upon which the owner shall acknowledge delivery of the animal A copy shall be retained by the poundmaster §2. payment to the poundmaster an im pounding fee of twenty five dollars and a boarding fee of seven dollars for each calendar day full or part the dog has been confined including the day on which the dog
