HomeMy WebLinkAbout2857 Ordinance - 1992 Wages for Non-Represented PersonnelAPP ri&VED AS TO IO ATTEST CATHERINE D SE MAN GRE RU TELLO Deputy City Clerk Ct Atts ney ORDINANCE NO. 2857 AN ORDINANCE concerning the salaries and wages for management positions for the calendar year 1992 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: §1. The maximum monthly salanes for management positions shall be as set forth in Exhibit I attached hereto, which exhibit is incorporated by reference as if fully set forth herein The schedule of maximum salaries set forth in Exhibit I will be effective January 1, 1992, and shall remain effective until this ordinance is amended or superseded by subsequent ordinance The actual salary to be received by an employee occupying a management position shall be determined by the City Manager in an amount no greater than the maximum for the position except as authonzed herein Where the 1991 actual salary of an incumbent in any management position exceeds the maximum salary for the position as set forth m Exhibit I, such employee shall continue to be compensated at his/her actual 1991 salary increased by a 2 8% cost of living adjustment §2. A merit increase may be granted to a city employee employed m one of the management level positions set forth in Exhibit I, at the sole discretion of the City Manager and within the following guidelines, provided, however, the total of all merit increases for the year 1992 does not exceed $30,000 00 (a) Any merit increase shall be based solely upon job performance demonstrating effort and achievement above and beyond that regularly expected of the position (b) Any merit mcrease awarded shall be for a temporary period of time to be determined by the City Manager, provided any such merit increase shall expire not later than December 31, 1992 §3. For payroll purposes only, the monthly salanes as set forth in Exhibit I may be multiplied by twelve (12) and divided by two thousand eighty (2,080) (number of hours m work year) to determine an hourly rate of pay and paychecks may be computed and paid on this hourly basis, however, all positions listed on Exhibit I shall remain salaried positions §4. This ordinance supersedes any conflicting prior ordinance or conflicting provision of a pnor ordinance §5. The wage scale for those positions specified in the at tached Exhibit I and not represented by a certified bargaining unit shall be as set forth in Exhibit I at tached hereto which ex hibit is incorporated by reference as if fully set forth herein The City Manager shall designate the appro pnate hourly wage step in Exhibit I for each employee covered by this ordinance considering their time in the position for which they are employed and their current hourly wage but at a step no lower than designated in Exhibit I for such period of employment (merit steps excepted) and at least equal to their present hourly wage provided however where the wage of an incumbent in any such position at the conclu won of 1991 is increased by 2 8% and does exceed the maximum wage for the po salon as set maximum monthly salaries for management positions shall be as set forth in Exhibit I attached hereto which exhibit is in corporated by reference as if fully set forth herein The schedule of maximum sala ries set forth in Exhibit I will be effective January 1 1992 and shall remain ef fective until this ordinance is amended or superseded by subsequent ordinance The actual salary to be re- ceived by an employee oc- cupying a management position shall be deter mined by the City Manager in an amount no greater than the maximum for the position except as autho nzed herein Where the 1991 actual
