ON, Mayor FO ORDINANCE NO. 2816 AN ORDINANCE concerning mileage reimbursement and amending Section 2.42.470(a) of the Pasco Municipal Code (PMC). WHEREAS, The cost for travel by privately owned vehicles has increased by the increased costs of gasoline and other maintenance costs, NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 2.42.470(a) of the Pasco Municipal Code is hereby amended (deletions by interlineation, additions by underlining) to read as follows: 2.42.470 TRAVEL ALLOWANCE. Travel allowance shall be paid to employees required to be out of the city on official business as provided below: (a) Whenever it becomes necessary for an elective or appointive official or employee of the city to travel away from the city on official business, and it is found to be more advantageous and economical to the city that he or she travel by a privately owned automobile rather than by a common carrier, he or she shall be allowed a mileage rate not to exceed twenty-four twenty-six cents per mile. Otherwise, any such official or employee shall be allowed the cost for travel by the common carrier mode determined by the city manager to be the most advantageous and economical to the city. Such costs shall be determined by the schedule for travel needed to complete the official business. In all other respects, Section 2.42.470 shall remain the same. Section 2.
