AN ORDINANCE concerning the city zoning map and amending
Section 22.20.020 of the Pasco Municipal Code.
WHEREAS, current Section 22.20.020 provides that the
official city zoning map shall be located in the office of the
county auditor. This is contrary to existing practice; and
WHEREAS, state law does not require that the official
zoning map be filed with the county auditor and it makes more
sense to file the official city zoning map with the city clerk
for examination by the public, NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO, WASHINGTON, DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Section 22.20.020 of the Pasco Municipal Code
is hereby amended (new language is underlined, deleted language
is interlineated) to read as follows:
22.20.020 ZONING MAP. The districts are bounded as
shown on a map entitled, "Zoning Map of the City of
Pasco," which together with all explanatory material
thereon, is hereby adopted by reference and declared to
be a part of this title.
The official zoning map shall be identified by the
signature of the Mayer-ef-Pasee director of community
development and attested by the city clerk. A true copy
marked "Exhibit A" shall be located in the office of the
eetnity-audtter city clerk, and shall be final authority
as to the current zoning status of land and water areas,
buildings and other structures of the city.
In accordance with the provisions of this title, if
changes are made in district boundaries or other matters
portrayed on the official zoning map, such changes shall
be made on the official zoning map promptly after the
amendment has been approved by the city council. The
amending ordinance shall provide that they have been
duly entered upon the official zoning map.
In the event that the official zoning map becomes
damaged, destroyed, or lost, or difficult to interpret
because of the nature or number of changes and
additions, the city council may by resolution, adopt a
new official zoning map which shall supersede the prior
official zoning map.
No changes of any nature shall be made in the
official zoning map or matter shown thereon except in
conformity with the procedure set forth in this title.
Any unauthorized change of whatever kind, by any person
or persons shall be considered a violation of this title
and punishable as provided under Section 22.08.050.
Section 2. This Ordinance is necessary for the immediate
preservation of the public peace, health, safety, or support of
local government and its existing public institutions, and shall
take effect immediately.
