HomeMy WebLinkAbout2760 OrdinanceED HENDLER, Mayor APPROVED AS TO FORM ELLS, City Clerk N 4 ORDINANCE NO ,R#26 ei AN ORDINANCE concerning salaries and wages for management positions for the calendar year 1990 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS Section 1 The maximum monthly salaries for management positions shall be as set forth in Exhibit I attached hereto, which exhibit is incorporated by reference as if fully set forth herein The schedule of maximum salaries set forth in Exhibit I will be effective January 1, 1990 and shall remain effective until this ordinance is amended or superceded by subsequent ordinance The actual salary to be received by an employee occupying a management position shall be determined by the City Manager, provided, however, where the 1989 actual salary of an incumbent in any management position exceeds the maximum salary for the position as set forth in Exhibit I, such employee shall continue to be compensated at his/her actual 1989 salary Section 2 A merit increase may be granted to a city employee employed in one of the management level positions set forth in Exhibit I, at the sole discretion of the City Manager and within the following guidelines, provided, however, the total of all merit increases for the year 1990 does not exceed $20,000 (a) Any merit increase shall be based solely upon job performance demonstrating effort and achievement above and beyond that regularly expected of the position (b) Any merit increase awarded shall be for a temporary period of time to be determined by the City Manager, provided any such merit increase shall expire not later than December 31, 1990 Section 3 For payroll purposes only, the monthly salaries as set forth in Exhibit I may be multiplied by twelve (12) and divided by two thousand and eighty (2,080) (number of hours in work year) to determine an hourly rate of pay and paychecks may be computed and paid on this hourly basis, however, all positions listed on Exhibit I shall remain salaried positions Section 4 This ordinance shall be effective five (5) days after passage and publication Section 5 All prior ordinances, including Ordinance No 2714, in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance, are rescinded and superceded by this ordinance PASSED this 18th day of December, 1989, by the Pasco City Council and approved by the Mayor AT ST GREG A' RUBSTELLO, City Attorney VS o Ordinance No EXHIBIT I 1990 MONTHLY MANAGEMENT SALARIES Monthly Grade Position Maximum City Manager $4,893 M20 Municipal Court Judge $4,104 City Attorney Director of Public Works M18 Director of Finance $3,882 Police Chief M16 Director of Parks & Recreation 3,661 Fire Chief M14 Director of Community Development 3,438 Police Captain City Engineer M12 Assistant Fire Chief 3,217 M11 Wastewater Superintendent 3,105 Water Superintendent M9 Personnel/Purchasing Officer 2,884 Assistant Finance Director M8 Recreation Supervisor 2,773 M6 Senior Services Coordinator 2,551 M3 Court Clerk 2,219 M2 Police Services Manager 2,107 ew yn Wells City Clerk PERSONNEL / PURCHASING (509) 545-3408 / Scan 726-3408 P 0 BOX 293, 412 WEST CLARK, PASCO, WASHINGTON 99301 111111111 111 1 11 1 11 1 11111 11 11 1 111111 1 111 December 19, 1989 Tri City Herald P.O.
