AN ORDINANCE of the City of Pasco adopting the 1988 Edition of
the Uniform Fire Code with appendix chapters IA,
IC, IIB, II-C, II-D, III-A, III-B, III-C, IV-A,
V-A, VI-A, VI-C, together with appropriate
amendments and substitutions thereto; and adopting
1988 Edition of the Uniform Fire Code Standards.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO DO ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Section 18.04.010(a) of the Pasco Municipal
Code be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows:
18.04.010 ADOPTION OF UNIFORM FIRE CODE. (a) There is
adopted by the City Council of the city, pursuant to the
provisions of RCW 35.21.180 and 35A.12.140 for the purpose
of prescribing regulations governing conditions hazardous
to life and property from fire or explosion, that certain
code and standards known as the Uniform Fire Code,
including Appendix Chapters I-A, I-C, II-A, II-B, II-C,
II-D, III-A, III-B, III-C, IV-A, V-A, VI-A, VI-C, and the
Uniform Fire Code Standards published by the Western Fire
Chiefs Association and the International Conference of
Building Officials, being in particular the /985 1988
editions thereof and the whole thereof, save and except
such portions as are hereinafter deleted, modified or
amended, and the same are adopted and incorporated as
fully as if set out at length herein and from the date on
which the ordinance codified in this chapter shall take
effect, the provision thereof shall be controlling within
the corporate limits of the city.
Section 2. Section 2. Section 18.04.015 of the Pasco
Municipal Code be and the same is hereby amended to read as
follows:
18.04.015 SUBSTITUTION FOR SECTION 2.302 2.303 OF THE UFC.
Section 27482. 2.303 of the Uniform Fire Code shall be
omitted and the following shall be substituted in its
place:
Section i738R 2.303 Appeals. Whenever the Fire Chief
of the Pasco Fire Department disapproves an application or
refuses to grant a permit applied for, or when it is
claimed that the provisions of this code do not apply, or
that the true intent of the code has been misconstrued or
wrongfully interpreted, the applicant may, within thirty
(30) days of the decision, appeal that decision to the
Board of Appeals established under the Building Code.
Section 3. A new Pasco Municipal Code Section 18.04.155
is enacted to read as follows:

18.04.155 SUBSTITUTION FOR ARTICLE 80 OF THE UNIFORM FIRE
CODE. Article 80 of the Uniform Fire Code 1988 Edition is
hereby omitted and substituted by Article 80 of the
Uniform Fire Code 1985 Edition.
Section 4. Section 04.160 of the Pasco Municipal Code
be and the same is hereby repealed.

Section 5. This Ordinance shall take effect five (5)
days after passage and publication.
