HomeMy WebLinkAbout2714 Ordinancevelyn We Is, City Clerk ORDINANCE NO 2714 AN ORDINANCE concerning salaries and wages for management positions for the calendar year 1989 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS Section 1 The maximum monthly salaries for management positions shall be as set forth in Exhibit 1 attached hereto, which Exhibit is incorporated by reference as if fully set forth herein The schedule of maximum salaries set forth in Exhibit 1 will be effective January 1, 1989 and shall remain effective until this ordinance is amended or superceded by subsequent ordinance The actual salary to be received by an employee occupying a management position shall be determined by the City Manager, provided, however, where the 1988 actual salary of an incumbent in any management position exceeds the maximum salary for the position as set forth in Exhibit 1, such employee shall continue to be compensated at his/her actual 1988 salary Section 2 A merit increase may be granted to a city employee employed in one of the management level positions set forth in Exhibit 1, at the sole discretion of the City Manager and within the following guidelines, provided, however, the total of all merit increases for the year 1989 does not exceed $20,000 (a) Any merit increase shall be based solely upon job performance demonstrating effort and achievement above and beyond that regularly expected of the position (b) Any merit increase awarded shall be for a temporary period of time to be determined by the City Manager, provided any such merit increase shall expire not later than December 31, 1989 Section 3 For payroll purposes only, the monthly salaries as set forth in Exhibit 1 may be multiplied by twelve (12) and divided by two thousand and eighty (2,080) (number of hours in work year) to determine an hourly rate of pay and paychecks may be computed and paid on this hourly basis, however, all positions listed on Exhibit 1 shall remain salaried positions Section 4 This ordinance shall be effective five (5) days after passage and publication Section 5 All prior ordinances, including Ordinance No 2673, in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance, are rescinded and superceded by this ordinance PASSED this 19th day of December, 1988, by the Pasco City Council and approved by the Mayor A T It-ST Ed Hen ler, Mayor APPROVED AS TO FORM A Greg Rubstello, City Attorney Ordinance No EXHIBIT I 1989 MONTHLY MANAGEMENT SALARIES Monthly Grade Position Maximum City Manager $4,750 M20 Municipal Court Judge 3,984 City Attorney M19 Director of Public Works 3,877 M18 Director of Finance 3,769 Police Chief M16 Director of Parks & Recreation 3,554 Fire Chief M14 Director of Community Development 3,338 Police Captain M13 City Engineer 3,231 M12 Assistant Fire Chief 3,123 M11 Wastewater Superintendent 3,015 Water Superintendent M9 Personnel/Purchasing Officer 2,800 Assistant Finance Director M7 Recreation Supervisor 2,584 M6 Senior Services Coordinator 2,477 M3 Deputy Treasurer 2,154 M2 Police Services Manager 2,046 Court Clerk : 99302-2608 21teatat P 0 BOX 2608 PASCO, WASHINGTON (509) 582-1500 LEGAL ADVERTISING INVOICE SOLD TO flt1 ,-ii PRSro DATE LEGAL NO ACCOUNT NO °"(-)`-'5() DESCRIPTION Or di nanre No . 2714 TIMES °(-} 1 LINES (-4 ACUAt TOTALS r . o.13 t - r WA •--/9".)01 NOTICE.
