ORDINANCE NO. 2686
AN ORDINANCE Authorizing and empowering the City to
condemn land and property for the widening of Sylvester
Street in conjunction with the 20th Avenue
Signalization Project.
WHEREAS, RCW 8.12.030 authorizes Washington cities and
towns to condemn land and property for the widening of streets;
and
WHEREAS, The City desires to widen Sylvester Street west
of 20th Avenue in order to accommodate a left turn pocket to
operate in conjunction with new signalization; and
WHEREAS, Certain real property defined in Attachment "A"
hereto and depicted in Attachment "B" hereto must necessarily be
acquired by the City in order to accommodate the widening of
Sylvester Street; and
WHEREAS, The City has been unable to negotiate the
purchase of the interests of some of the parties in ownership of
the premises and a condemnation action is necessary to acquire
such interests; NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO, WASHINGTON, DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Pursuant to RCW 8.12.040 the City Council
hereby authorizes and empowers the City to condemn the property
described and defined in Attachments "A" and "B" hereto for the
purpose of widening Sylvester Street west of 20th Avenue.
Section 2. This Ordinance shall take effect five (5)
days after passage and publication.
PASSED by the City Council and APPROVED by the Mayor this
6th day of June, 1988.

SAID SYLVESTER STREET 63.00 FEET TO THE WEST LINE OF THE EAST 360
FEET AT SAID SOUTHEAST QUARTER; THENCE NORTH 0 19' 32" WEST
ALONG SAID WEST LINE 5.18 FEET; THENCE NORTH 88 17' 05" EAST
63.02 FEET TO THE WEST LINE OF THE EAST 297 FEET AT SAID
SOUTHEAST QUARTER; THENCE SOUTH 0 19' 32" EAST 6.75 FEET TO THE
