HomeMy WebLinkAbout2642 OrdinanceI r tr" ORDINANCE NO. 2642 AN ORDINANCE concerning the City of Pasco Personnel Board; and amending Section 2.42.050 of the Pasco Municipal Code. WHEREAS, Section 2.42.050 PMC presently requires the Personnel Board to hold regular meetings "at least once a month during at least ten calendar months of the year"; and WHEREAS, experience and board history has shown that the business of the board is sporatic and generally on an "as needed" basis in response to an infrequently filed complaint, and the frequency of meeting required by the municipal code is unnecessary, NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO, WASHINGTON DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 2.42.050 of the Pasco Municipal Code is hereby amended, as shown by deletion by interlineation and additions by underlying, as follows: 2.42.050 PERSONNEL BOARD - COMPOSITION AND ORGANIZATION. The Mayor shall appoint a personnel board consisting of three members who shall serve without compensation. No person shall be appointed a member of such a board who is not a citizen of the United States, a resident of the city for at least three years immediately preceding such appointment, and an elector of the city. The term of office for such members shall be for three years, except that the first three members of such board shall be appointed for different terms as follows: One to serve for a period of one year; one to serve for a period of two years; and, one to serve for a period of three years. Any member of the board may be removed from office by the Mayor for incompetency, incompatibility or dereliction of duty, or malfeasance in office or other good cause. Two members of such board shall constitute a quorum and the votes of any two members of such board concurring shall be sufficient for the decision of all matters and the transaction of all business to be decided or transacted by the board. The board shall hold regular meetings at least emee-a-menth-during-at-least-ten ediender-menths-ef—the-year quarterly and such additional meetings as may be required for the proper discharge of its duties. The board shall keep the records of is proceedings and shall preserve all reports made to it. Section 2. This Ordinance shall take five (5) days after passage and publication.
