AN ORDINANCE Deregulating Taxicab Fares and amending
Section 5.44.210 of the Pasco Municipal Code.
WHEREAS, The Pasco City Council has determined that under
existing circumstances it is unnecessary and against the public
interest to regulate the maximum fare that may be charged by an
operator or driver in charge of any taxicab, except to require
the filing of a fare schedule with the City Clerk, the display of
the fare schedule in each taxicab and the charging of fares on an
equal and non-discriminatory basis; NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO, WASHINGTON DO
ORDAIN A FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Section 5.44.210 of the Pasco Municipal Code
is hereby amended by the underlined additions and deletion by
interlineation to read as follows:
5.44.210 FARE--SeHEBULET NON DISCRIMINATORY FARE
CHARGES. It is unlawful for any operator or driver
in charge of any taxicab to charge any person any
greater or lesser fare than is specified in the schedule
of fares required to be filed with the city clerk under
Section 5.44.190 and as required to be displayed in
each taxicab by Section 5.44.200. reeeve-arty-greater
