HomeMy WebLinkAbout2637 OrdinanceATT -T ells, City Clerk ORDINANCE NO 2637 AN ORDINANCE concerning salaries and wages for management positions for the calendar year 1913/ THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS Section 1 The maximum monthly salaries for management positions shall be as set forth in Exhibit I attached hereto, which Exhibit is incorporated by reference as if fully set forth herein The schedule of maximum salaries set forth in Exhibit I will be effective January 1, 1987 and shall remain effective until this ordinance is amended or superceded by subsequent ordinance The actual salary to be received by an employee occupying a management position shall be determined by the City Manager, provided, however, where the 1986 actual salary of an incumbent in any management position exceeds the maximum salary for the position as set forth in Exhibit 1, such employee shall continue to be compensated at his/her actual 1986 salary Section 2 A merit increase may be granted to a City employee employed in one of the management level positions set forth in Exhibit I, at the sole discretion of the City Manager and within the following guidelines, provided, however, the total of all merit increases for the year 1987 does not exceed $15,000 (a) Any merit increase shall be based solely upon job performance demonstrating effort and achievement above and beyond that regularly expected of the position (b) Any merit increase awarded shall be for a temporary period of time to be determined by the City Manager, provided any such merit increase shall expire not later than December 31, 1987 Section 3 For payroll purposes only, the monthly salaries as set forth in Exhibit I may be multiplied by twelve (12) and divided by two thousand and eighty (2,080) (number of hours in work year) to determine an hourly rate of pay and paychecks may be computed and paid on this hourly basis, however, all positions listed on Exhibit Nshall remain salaried positions Section 4 This ordinance shall be effective five (5) days after passage and publication Section 5 All prior ordinances, including Ordinance No 2589, in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance, are rescinded and superceded by this ordinance PASSED this 15th day of December, 1986 by the Pasco City Council and approved by the Mayor APPROVED AS TO FORM ACt2,0 Greg(AJ Rubstello, City Attorney - r — „ _ e • CITY OF PASCO SUMMARY OF ORDINANCE NO. 2637 AN ORDINANCE CONCERNING SALARIES AND WAGES FOR MANAGEMENT POSITIONS FOR THE CALENDAR YEAR 1987 On Monday, December 15, 1986, the Pasco City Council approved Ordinance No. ,9).37, an ordinance concerning management positions salaries and wages for the calendar year 1987. A section by section summary of the ordinance follows: Section 1. This section establishes the maximum monthly salaries for management positions and adopts by reference Exhibit 1, which exhibit contains a schedule of maximum salaries. Actual salaries for each position are determined by the City Manager. Section 2. This section authorizes and sets forth guidelines for the awarding by the City Manager of merit increases for management personnel, not to exceed $15,000 for all management employees. Section 3. This section establishes a formula to be used for payroll purposes only, to determine hourly rates of pay. Section 4. This section provides that the ordinance will be effective five days after its passage and publication of this summary. Section 5. This section rescinds all prior inconsistent ordinances. A copy of the full text of this ordinance will be mailed upon request made to the Pasco City Clerk.
