HomeMy WebLinkAbout2609 OrdinanceORDINANCE NO. 2609 AN ORDINANCE allowing temporary directional signs along the Blue Bridge Closure Detour Route. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. GENERAL PROVISIONS. The provisions of this ordinance shall take precedent over or supersede as the case may be other provisions contained in PMC Chapter 17.45 regulating off-premise signs. The provisions of Chapter 17.46 shall otherwise apply to signs permitted by this ordinance. Section 2. OFF-PREMISE SIGN CORRIDOR. For the duration of the effective period of this ordinance, the off-premise sign corridor located only along State Highway 12 as referred to in PMC 17.46.020 shall be designated as the Blue Bridge Closure Detour Route through the City of Pasco. This corridor shall include only the land area within 200 feet of the right-of-way lines of said detour route. Section 3. SIGN PURPOSE. Signs authorized under this chapter shall be limited only to directional signs and nothing herein shall be deemed to permit generic messages or individual product advertising. Section 4. DISPLAY AREA. The maximum display area of an off-premise sign permitted herein shall not exceed thirty-two square feet. Section 5. HEIGHT. The maximum height of a an off-premise sign permitted herein shall not exceed twenty feet. Section 6. SPACING. No off-premise sign permitted herein shall be located closer than 250 feet from other off-premise signs; within fifty feet of a public street intersection; or within one hundred feet of a residential district. Section 7. SIGN REMOVAL. Off-premise signs authorized herein shall be considered temporary in nature. As such sign permits for off-premise signs shall terminate upon the the date the blue bridge reopens for public use. Signs shall be removed from the temporary corridor as described herein no later than ten days following the reopening of the blue bridge. Section 8. This Ordinance shall take effect five (5) days after its passage and publication as required by law and shall terminate upon the date the blue bridge is reopened for public use. ••n 1986.
