YN W LLS, City Clerk , Mayor ORDINANCE NO. 2608 AN ORDINANCE concerning false arrest insurance; and repealing Section 2.42.130 of the Pasco Municipal Code. WHEREAS, employees of the Pasco Police Department with powers of arrest, are organized in an employee association and engaged in collective bargaining with the City; and WHEREAS, employee benefits, insurance or otherwise, for Pasco police officers should be set forth in the collective bargaining agreement rather than the municipal code; and WHEREAS, the City is no longer assured of obtaining false arrest insurance at any price, NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO, WASHINGTON DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 2.42.130 of the Pasco Municipal Code, the provisions of which, are set forth below, is hereby repealed in its entirety: 2.42.130 FALSE ARREST INSURANCE. In addition to the amount stated in the salary and wage plans of the City, present and future, and in the annual budgets of the City as the salaries of police officers, the City shall pay, as part of the employment contracts of such officers, premiums on insurance protecting such officers against claims for damages for false arrest with such limits as the council may, from time to time, determine. Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect five (5) days after passage and publication. PASSED this 2 day of June, .
