AN ORDINANCE concerning the closing of certain
councilmatic debt service funds and authorizing the transfer of
monies in such funds and any accumulated interest thereon to the
general fund.
WHEREAS, good accounting practice utilizes as few separate
funds as possible; and
WHEREAS, the maintenance of councilmatic bond funds as
funds separate from the general fund requires separate reporting
and other costly accounting actions; and
WHEREAS, state law does not require that councilmatic debt
service funds be maintained as funds separate from the general
fund, NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO, WASHINGTON, DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION ONE. City fund No. 231 concerning 1983 golf
redevelopment bonds, city fund No. 240 concerning 1977 bridge
bonds, city fund No. 241 concerning 1979 bridge bonds, and city
fund No. 250 concerning 1968 park bonds are hereby closed and all
monies in such funds, including any interest thereon, shall be
transferred to the city's general fund for accounting therein.
SECTION TWO. The provisions of this ordinance supercede
any provisions of city ordinances numbered 1813, 2071, 1315, and
2447 in conflict with any provision of this ordinance.
SECTION THREE. This ordinance shall take effect five
(5) days after passage and publication.
PASSED this 17/ day of November, 1985 and approved by
the Mayor.
