ORDINANCE NO. 2558
AN ORDINANCE vacating certain rights-of-way within the City of
Pasco and requiring compensation as authorized by
state law.
WHEREAS, a petition signed by more than two-thirds (2/3)
of the owners of property abutting the portions of street and
alley rights-of-way described below has been submitted to the
City Council of the City of Pasco; and
WHEREAS, all steps and procedures required by law to
vacate those portions hereinafter described have been duly taken
and performed, and the City Council desires to exercise its
authority regarding compensation for vacated rights-of-way;
NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO DOES ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the east half of Melrose Avenue, lying
adjacent the north half of Block 1 Steffin's Addition; and the
remaining north half (10 feet) of the east-west alley located
within Block 1 of Stet tin's Addition hereby shall be vacated, and
the property so vacated shall vest in the rightful owners thereof
and shall attach to the lots or grounds bordering thereon in the
manner prescribed by law, upon fulfillment of the following
conditions:
1. The applicant causes an appraisal of the property to
be performed by a qualified appraiser approved by the
City Manager, and submit said appraisal to the City
Council for approval; and
2. The applicant pay compensation to the City of Pasco in
the amount of $4,309.31, or one half of the total
appraised value of said rights-of-way, whichever
amount is less.
Section 2. That a certified copy of this ordinance
shall be recorded by the City Clerk of Pasco in and with the
Office of the Auditor of Franklin County, Washington, upon the
fulfillment of performance as described in Section 1 above.
Section 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect after its passage and subsequent publication as required
