HomeMy WebLinkAbout2523 OrdinanceORDINANCE NO. 2523 AN ORDINANCE amending Sections 2.16.040 and .050 and adding new Section .065 and deleting Section .080 of the Pasco Municipal Code and relating to public official bonds. WHEREAS, the public official bonds required by Sections 2.16.040 and .050 of the Pasco Municipal Code are not in conformance with the provisions of Title 35A and the dollar amounts for the appropriate bonds are no longer of sufficient amount, NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION ONE. Section 2.16.040 of the Pasco Municipal Code is hereby amended by the underlined additions and interlineated deletions shown below to read as follows: 2.16.040 AIRPeRT--MANAGER--ANB--TREASURBR, CITY FINANCE DIRECTOR BONDS. The-Airpert-Mamager--shall--be-under-hemd im-the-sum-ef-ten-theusamd-deliars—f$197999}7 The City--Treasurer Finance Director shall file a bond acceptable to the City Council for the minimum sum of twenty--theusand--dears one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000), conditioned on the faithful and full performance of his duties. The City Finance Director shall file a further bond acceptable to the City Council for the minimum sum of $500,000.00, condition upon the honest performance of his duties. The two bonds may be combined into a single bond covering both honesty and faithful performance in their respective amounts. SECTION TWO. Section 2.16.050 of the Pasco Municipal Code is hereby amended by the underlined additions and interlineated deletions shown below to read as follows: 2.16.050 MAY9R, ATTeRNEY, peynieB--auBsEi, POLICE CHIEF, CLERK BONDS. The Mayer, the--9ity -Attermey, the City Clerk, the-Peliee-audge and the Chief of Police of the City, before entering into their respective duties, shall each execute a bond to the City conditioned for the honest and faithful performance of his duties, including in the same bond the duties of all his ex officio offices. The bond shall be in the following penal sums: (1) Mayer $-27599 (2) eity-Atterney 5-27589 (3) Peliee-Judge $-R7588 (4) Chief of Police $---588 $10,000 (5) City Clerk $-R7588 $10,000 stello, City Attorney SECTION THREE. Section 2.16.065 is hereby added to the Pasco Municipal Code and shall read as follows: 2.16.065 PAYMENT OF BOND FEES. The fees for the bonds set forth in Sections 2.16.040 and 2.16.050 shall be paid for by the City of Pasco. SECTION FOUR. Section 2.16.080 of the Pasco Municipal Code is hereby deleted in its entirety. SECTION FIVE. This ordinance shall take effect five (5) days after passage and publication according to law.
