HomeMy WebLinkAbout2495 OrdinanceAPPRO Ore bstello, City t ORDINANCE NO 2495 AN ORDINANCE CONCERNING THE UTILITIES - OCCUPATION LICENSE TAX, AMENDING SECTION 5 32 045 OF THE PASCO MUNICIPAL CODE WHEREAS, the State Legislature by Section 5 of Chapter 99, Washington Laws of 1983, amended RCW 35 21 870 and the State Attorney General's Office has issued an opinion clarifying the intent of said legislation, and it is the desire of the Pasco City Council to comply with the legislation, NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS Section One Section 5 32 045 of the Pasco Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows 5 32 045 TAX - RATE REDUCTION The rate of tax imposed on the privilege of conducting an electrical energy, natural gas, or telephone business shall decrease to a rate of six percent (6%) by an annual reduction in the existing rate of tax imposed upon each such utility equal to ene-fifth one-tenth the difference between the existing tax rate on each respective business and 6% The annual rate reduction set forth in this section shall be effective on the first day of January of each year, beginning January 1, commencing with the year 4986 1984 Section Two This Ordinance shall take effect five (5) days after passage and publication according to Law PASSED by the Pasco City Council this 16 day of 1984 and APPROVED by the Mayor April 5 A,; ;T IVe/e6/ roroth R. .Stude eputy City Clerk )ss STATE OF WASHINGTON Eileen Scott being first duly sworn on oath deposes and says oho is the principal clerk of the Tn City Herald, a daily newspaper That said newspaper is a legal newspaper and has been approved as a legal newspaper by order of the superior court in the county in which it is published and it is now and has been for more than six months prior to the date of the publication here inafter referred to, published in the English language continually as a daily newspaper in Franklin County, Washington, and is now and during all of said time was printed in an office maintained at the aforesaid place of publication of said newspaper That the annexed is a true copy of a It legal ad "Ordinance No. 2495 as it was printed in the regular and entire issue of the Tri City Herald itself and not in a supplement thereof, for a period of consecutive weeks, commencing on the Met day of April , 19 84 , and ending on the apt day of April , 19 84 and that said newspaper was regularly astrikbuted to its subscribers during all of this period That the full amount of $ "66165 has been paid in full, also at the rate of 6i inches @ $6.90 = 04.85.
