ORDINANCE NO 2495
AN ORDINANCE CONCERNING THE UTILITIES - OCCUPATION LICENSE
TAX, AMENDING SECTION 5 32 045 OF THE PASCO MUNICIPAL CODE
WHEREAS, the State Legislature by Section 5 of Chapter 99,
Washington Laws of 1983, amended RCW 35 21 870 and the State Attorney
General's Office has issued an opinion clarifying the intent of said
legislation, and it is the desire of the Pasco City Council to comply
with the legislation, NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS
Section One Section 5 32 045 of the Pasco Municipal Code is
hereby amended to read as follows
5 32 045 TAX - RATE REDUCTION The rate of tax imposed
on the privilege of conducting an electrical energy,
natural gas, or telephone business shall decrease to a
rate of six percent (6%) by an annual reduction in the
existing rate of tax imposed upon each such utility equal
to ene-fifth one-tenth the difference between the existing
tax rate on each respective business and 6%
The annual rate reduction set forth in this section shall be effective on
the first day of January of each year, beginning January 1, commencing
with the year 4986 1984
Section Two This Ordinance shall take effect five (5) days
after passage and publication according to Law
PASSED by the Pasco City Council this 16 day of
1984 and APPROVED by the Mayor
