HomeMy WebLinkAbout2474 OrdinanceATTE ls, City Clerk Eve ORDINANCE NO. 2474 AN ORDINANCE amending Chapter 9 62 of the Pasco Municipal Code and relating to the disposition and abatement of abandoned vehicles and vehicle hulks. WHEREAS, Pasco has adopted by reference the Washington Model Traffic Ordinance (MTO), Chapter 46.90 RCW; and WHEREAS, the MTO defines and sets forth procedures for the disposition of abandoned vehicles and vehicle hulks from private property, real property and highways (city streets); and WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council to legislate a single uniform set of procedures for the abatement of abandoned vehicles and vehicle hulks conforming to the applicable provisions in the MTO, NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Chapter 9.62 of the Pasco Municipal Code which presently sets forth detailed definitions and procedures in reference to the abatement of abandoned vehicles and vehicle hulks is hereby amended to read as follows and all present provisions of Chapter 9.62 PMC in conflict therewith are hereby repealed: 9.62.010 MTO PROVISIONS ADOPTED. The provisions of the "Washington Model Traffic Ordinance" (MTO), (Chapter 46.90 RCW, Chapter 54 Laws of 1975, 1st Ex.Sess), as amended, relating to the disposition or the abatement of abandoned vehicles or vehicle hulks on private property, real property and highways (city streets) shall to the extent they are applicable, be the law of the City of Pasco. Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect five (5) days after passage and publication according to law. PASSED this 7 day of November , 1983.
