HomeMy WebLinkAbout2444 OrdinanceORDINANCE NO 2444 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO 1764 OF THE CITY OF PASCO AND REGULATING THE USE OF THE PASCO CITY COUNCIL CHAMBERS WHEREAS, Ordinance No 1764 of the City of Pasco was passed on the 3rd day of February, 1976, and WHEREAS, since that time the Pasco City Council Chambers have been equipped with expensive recording and sound amplification equipment, and WHEREAS, the use of the Pasco City Council Chambers by City Departments and other governmental agencies have substantially increased, and WHEREAS, other public buildings within the City of Pasco are open to the Public for meetings and other activities, NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO, WASHINGTON, DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS Section 1 Ordinance No 1764 of the City of Pasco, Passed February 3, 1976, is hereby amended so that Exhibit C - Page 1 thereof which now reads as follows RENTAL OF CITY COUNCIL CHAMBERS No person, or group of persons, shall hold any meeting, or conduct group activities in any facility described above except by permit and upon the terms and conditions hereinafter set forth, provided that such permit requirements shall not apply to scheduled activities Upon application, such permit will be issued unless (1) its issuance would obstruct and interfere substantially with use and enjoyment by the public, or (2) the date and time requested has previously been allocated by permit, or (3) the use for which the permit is sought is of a private or commercial venture 1 Applications must be completed by a qualified adult member or advisor of the oroanization requesting use 2 All applications must be completed at least four (4) days in advance of the event 3 A single application may be made for a series of stated meetings of a like character n 1 , City Clerk M , i y Attorn y reg D AS T W I .1. 4 Permittee shall hold the City free and clear of any and all claims for damages, and loss of property that may result from any act or omission on the part of the permittee or its agents while on City property 5 If, in the opinion of the City, facilities are needed for a department program, applications may be revoked ten (10) days before the scheduled event 6 Governmental or governmental sponsored activities are excluded from the fee charge FEES For rent of the City Council Chambers, the rental shall be $10 for the first three (3) hours and $5 for each hour thereafter, or fraction thereof, up to the hour of 12 midnight, when the facility must be vacated IS HEREBY AMENDED AS FOLLOWS USE OF CITY COUNCIL CHAMBERS The use of the Pasco City Council Chambers shall be restricted to the activities of City of Pasco official agencies, departments, boards or commissions Section 2 This Ordinance shall take effect five (5) days after passage and publication according to law PASSED by the City Council and APPROVED as provided by law, this 4 day of April , 1983 -__ —ORDINANCE NO 2444 AN ORDINANCE AMEND- ING ORDINANCE NO 1764 OF THE CITY OF PASCO AND REGULAT ING THE USE OF THE PASCO CITY COUNCIL CHAMBERS WHEREAS Ordinance No 1764 of the City of Pasco was passed on the 3rd day of February 1976 and WHEREAS since that time the Pasco City Council Chambers have been equipped with expensive recording and sound ampli- fication equipments and WHEREAS the use of the 'Pasco City Council Chambers by City depart- ments and other govern- mental agencies have substantially increased and n WHEREAS other public buildings within the City of Pasco are open to the pub- lic for meetings and other activities NOW THERE- FORE THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO WASHINGTON DOES OR DAIN AS FOLLOWS Section 1 Ordinance No 1764 of the City of 1 Pasco passed February 3 1976 is hereby amended so that Exhibit C - Page 1 thereof which now reads as follows RENTAL OF CITY COUN- CIL CHAMBERS No Person or group of per- sons shall hold any meet ings or conduct group activities in any facility de- scribed above except by permit and upon the terms and conditions hereinafter set forth provided that such permit requirements shall not apply to sched- uled activities Upon application such per- mit will be issued unless (1) its issuance would obstruct and interfere substantially with use and enjoyment by the public or (2) the date and time requested has previously been allocated I by permit or (3) the use for , which the permit is sought , is of a private or commer I cial venture 1 Applications must be completed by a qualified adult member or advisor of the organization requesting use 2 All applications must be completed at least four (4) days in advance of the event 3 A single application May be made for a series of j stated meetings of a like character 4 Permittee shall hold the City free and clear of any and all claims for damages and loss of property that may result from any act or omission on the pert of the ;
