HomeMy WebLinkAbout2408 OrdinanceAUROVED A TO F ORDINANCE No. 2408 AN ORDINANCE declaring an emergency and providing for an unbudgeted expenditure without compliance wIth RCW 35.23.352. WHEREAS, the unanticipated destruction of the traffic signal and its appurtenances at the intersection of Oregon Avenue and Lewis Street has created a traffic condition ige ous to the public health, safety and welfare; and WHEREAS, the need for an operating traffic signal at the intersection is immediate, NOW, THEREFORE; THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO, WASHINGTON DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section One. An emergency is hereby declared to exist by the unanticipated destruction of the traffic signal and equipment ap'ourtenant to it at the intersection of Lewis Street and Oregon Avenue. Section Two. An expenditure in the sum of $25,000 from the contingency fund of the City is authorized for the restoration of an operating traffic signal at the intersection of Lewis Street and Oregon Avenue. Any money received by the city on claims result- ing from such damage shall ,-)e depos3ted in the contingency fund. Section Three. Compliance with RCW 35.23.352 (bid procedures) shall be dispensed with due to the nature of the emergency. Section Four. This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon passage and signature by the Mayor.
