ORDINANCE NO. 2406
AN ORDINANCE amending Ordinance No. 2300 and Chapter 5.32
of the Pasco Municipal Code, and providing
for a decrease in the rate of tax imposed on
the privilege of conducting an electrical
energy, natural gas, or telephone business
to six percent (6%)
WHEREAS, Section Four of Chapter 48, Laws of 1982, First
Extraordinary Session, became effective on April 20, 1982, and it
is necessary for the City of Pasco to comply with the provisions
thereof, NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
Section One. The rate of tax imposed on the privilege of
conducting an electrical energy, natural gas, or telephone business
shall decrease to a rate of six percent (6%) by an annual reduction
in the existing rate of tax imposed upon each such utility equal to
one-fifth (1/5) the difference between the existing tax rate on each
respective business and six percent (6%).
The annual rate reduction set forth above shall be effective
on the first day of January of each year until the tax rate of six
percent (6%) is imposed upon each such business commencing with the
year 1983.
Section Two. This ordinance shall become effective five (5)
days after passage and publication according to law.
