HomeMy WebLinkAbout2399 OrdinanceORDINANCE NO. 2399 AN ORDINANCE relating to signs by amending Chapters 17.08 and 17.44 of the Pasco Municipal Code WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission conducted a public hearing on September 22, 1982, due notice of which was properly given, for the purpose of considering whether or not Chapters 17.08 and 17 44 of the Pasco Municipal Code should be amended to revise the regulations pertaining to temporary signs; and WHEREAS, at the conclusion of said hearing, and upon con- sideration of all facts and testimony, presented, concluded the proposed amendments to be in the best interests of the Pasco community and recommended the City Council amend Chapters 17.08 and 17.44 to revise the regulations pertaining to temporary signs; and WHEREAS, the City Council has considered and concurs with the recommendation of the Planning Commission; NOW, THEREFORE THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That Pasco Municipal Code Section 17.08.170 be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: PMC 17.08.170 TEMPORARY SIGNS. "Temporary Sign" ±nelude-any-- s±g117-banner7-penmantr-vaIanee7-e-advet±s±ng-d±spIay-eenstrtleted- ef-eIeth7-eanvasT-I±.(ght-fabr±e7-eardbea±.d7-walIbeard7-e-etheff-.1±ght mater±al-wtth-er-w±theut-frames7-±ntended-te-be-d±sp.layed-er-a 1±m±ted-perted-e-t±me-en+y7-4erd-r-I44+-5-272.17-14q94-7. Shall mean any sign, as defined in Section 17.08.155 not permanently affixed to the ground or structure, except electric signs, as defined in Section 17.08.070. Section 2. That Pasco Municipal Code Section 17.44.020 be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: PMC 17.44.020 TEMPORARY USE. No temporary sign shall advertise a business service, product or event which is not available on the premises. Section 3. That Pasco Municipal Code section 17.44.030 be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows- PMC 17.44.030 TIME LIMITS. Permits shall be valid for a period of fifteen days from the date of issuance. No temporary sign requiring a permit under this chapter shall remain upon the premises beyond the expiration date of the permit AT Section 4. That Pasco Municipal Code Section 17.44.040 be and the same hereby is amended to read as follows: PMC 17.44.040 PERMIT AND FEES. No person shall permit or maintain any temporary sign in excess of six square feet until a permit therefor has been seeured obtained from the building inspector. No more than four (4) temporary sign permits may be issued in any calendar year for the same parcel of land Section 5. That Pasco Municipal Code Section 17.44.050 be and the same hereby is amended to read as follows: PMC 17.44.050 DISPLAY AREA. The aggregate display surface area of all temporary signs on any parcel of land shall not exceed thirty- six square feet. No more than twelve square feet of the total permitted display area may be utilized by signs with a display area of six square feet or less, nor sha11C'2, more than thirty-two square feet of the permitted display area be utilized by signs with a display area of more than six square feet. Section 6. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect after its passage and publication as required by law. PASSED by the City Council this 1982.
