HomeMy WebLinkAbout2348 OrdinanceORDINANCE NO. 2348 AN ORDINANCE allowing for and creating bus zones where parking is prohibited. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section One. Chapter 10.52 of the Pasco Municipal Code is hereby amended by the addition of Section 10.52.050 which shall read as follows: 10.52.050 BUS STOPS. When a sign or signs are erected giving notice of a bus stop, no person shall park a vehicle within the area designated on the sign or signs. Section Two. Chapter 10.52 of the Pasco Municipal Code is hereby amended by the addition of Section 10.52.060 which shall read as follows: 10.52.060 BUS ZONES-LOCATION. The Benton- Franklin Public Transportation Benefit Authority (BFPTBA) may at its sole expense and liability, at the locations designated by resolution duly passed by the Pasco City Council, erect and maintain a uniform sign or signs, approved by the City Director of Public Works, giving notice of a bus stop and prohibiting parking. In so doing the BFPTBA agrees to indemnify and save the city harmless from any and all claims, objects, costs and expenses whatsoever arising out of BFPTBA activities and the acts of BFPTBA employees, including, but without limitation, reasonable attorney's fees and costs incurred by the city in defending itself against such claims or in establishing its rights to indemnity as pro- vided herein. The maximum length of a bus stop shall be sixty (60) feet. Placement and content of signs shall conform to the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices guidelines and requirements. Section Three.
