HomeMy WebLinkAbout2146 OrdinanceST: Chet Bailie, Mayor W lls, City C erk APPROVED AS TO FORM: ORDINANCE NO. 2146 AN ORDINANCE relating to signs and amending Title 17 of the Pasco Municipal Code. WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the esthetic characteristics of the Inter-City Bridge and the views afforded both to and from said bridge are of significant benefit to the community as a whole; and WHEREAS, the City Council also finds that signs normally permitted in other areas of the community would cause substantial damaae and harm to the views afforded to and from said bridge if such signs were located within a certain geographical area in proximity to the Inter-City Bridge; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That Section 17.24.030 of the Pasco Municipal Code be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: P.M.C. 17.24.030 HEIGHT. (a) Except as provided in (b) below, the total height of a free- standing sign shall not exceed fifty (50) feet. The Board of Adjustment , may grant a variance of up to fifteen (15) feet in height making the total height of up to sixty-five (65) feet. (b) Free-standing signs shall not exceed thirty (30) feet in height within the geographic area lying south of "A" Street and on either side of the centerline of 10th Avenue for a distance of two thousand feet. Section 2. That a new Section 17.28.015 be and the same is hereby enacted to read as follows: P.M.C. 17.28.015 RESTRICTION. No roof signs shall be permitted within the geographic area lying south of "A" Street and on either side of the centerline of 10th Avenue for a distance of two thousand feet Section 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect five days after passage and publication as required by law. PASSED by the City Council of the City of Pasco this 7 day of April , 1980. Dennis J.
