Call to order Time: 5:40 pm II. Approval of Previous Meeting Minutes: • Note to Amend Minutes to reflect that Jason Ruud was in attendance. Minutes Approving: 10/18/2016 Motion to Approve Minutes as Amended: Arthur Job Second: Molly Harker Approval Vote: Unanimous III. Staff Reports a. Recreation Highlights i. Flag Football League is finishing up ii. Fall Co-ed Softball League – New this season, started by Tony Johnson. It is ending this week iii. Lampson Cable Bridge Run - Registrations are coming in and are through RunSignUp.com this year. Preparations are being made and we are promoting more through TV and Radio iv. Early Registration for Basketball has ended. Currently 330 kids signed up with registration ending November 20 v. Finishing up Highland Park Grant. Need to submit final reimbursement request and final report vi. Currently working on the Jan-Apr Program Guide. It will be released in December b. Senior Center Highlights i. Getting ready to vacate the Senior Center in December ii. Have taken inventory of the building and have sent the Memo with suggestions for discarding of surplus items iii. Footcare continues to go well with over 100 appointments in October c. Park Maintenance Highlights Personnel Activity i. Attended Monthly Safety Meetings Park & Facility Projects i. Winterize irrigation systems ii. Turned off water for the season iii. Pulled swings, table and portable toilets for the season iv. Planted trees on Park St. v. Painted fields for soccer, flag football and football vi. Re-roofed house at Chiawana vii. Burned tumbleweeds Cemetery i. 9 Funerals; 8 burials, 1 cremains ii. $22,291.50 in services for the month iii. Winterized irrigation system iv. Cleaned beds for winter stock Special Events i. Lourdes, Kiwanis Division 54 and the City of Pasco dedicated the exercise equipment at Volunteer Park ii. Assisted Recreation with Hayride IV. Report and Updates from Rick Terway a. Told the board that some rooms at City Hall, now occupied by the Police Department, will be used for recreation purposes in the short term b. Explained the Boating Facilities Grant and that it is part of the reason Ryan Hughes from Studio Cascade is at the meeting V. Other a. Park, Recreation, and Forestry Plan i. Ryan Hughes, from Studio Cascade, explained the Comprehensive Plan and then had the board participate in a Vision exercise to get feedback and update the vision statement for the plan ii. Ryan let the board know that he would be sending out a Park Project Priorities sheet the week of Nov 7 for the board to fill out. He would like them back ASAP to help meet the deadline for the completion of the park plan update VI. Council Member Suggestions & Report a. Robert Garcia asked if Chiawana Park will be open all winter i. He was informed it will be open all winter and minimal adjustments were made to accommodate the change VII.
