Dear Mr. Seet, Solutions -Traditional Values We very much appreciate the opportunity to propose on the geotechnical engineering for the signal pole at the intersection of Sandifur & Midland. We understand that the intersection will be designed to a four-way signalized intersection requiring signal poles at the four corners. We have the requisite expertise and skills to perform this type of engineering analysis and can begin immediately. Michael Black, PE will be the engineering performing the work for this project. The scope of work for the geotechnical field investigation includes hand augering boreholes, soil classification, soil testing and measurement of the groundwater elevations if encountered. The analysis includes laboratory testing for bearing capacity. Equipment rental for the borings is included, if required. Our deliverable will include a report with design recommendations with the specific seismic zone, liquefaction potential, allowable soil bearing pressure, horizontal pressures, allowable static and dynamic load based on the seismic zone, maximum and differential settlement, and sub -grade preparation. We intend to construct at least two and potentially four boreholes to at least 10 ft. deep using the auger and relative density measurements with a dynamic penetrometer. The number of holes is based on the presence or absence of gravel. The subsurface information, to be gathered, will not include a direct or implied warranty that soil conditions between or near the test locations can be directly interpolated or extrapolated, or that subsurface conditions and soil variations different from those disclosed at the test locations will not be revealed. If, during construction, subsurface conditions different from those described above are observed, we should be advised so that we can review these conditions and revise our recommendations where necessary.
