A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CORPS OF ENGINEERS TO COMMENCE
BEAUTIFICATION OF LEVEES WITHIN THE TRI -CITY AREAS AS SOON AS
PRACTICAL AND REQUESTING OTHER ENTITIES WITHIN THE TRI -CITY
AREA AND THE BENTON-FRANKLIN GOVERNMENTAL CONFERENCE TO
ENDORSE A COMPARABLE RESOLUTION.
WHEREAS, the Corps of Engineers is anticipating the construction of a
second powerhouse at McNary Dam; and
WHEREAS, said project will include the beautification of certain levees
in the Tri -City Area; and
WHEREAS, said beautification is not expected to be commenced until
the final phases of the McNary project, or approximately 1984; and
WHEREAS, the City of Pasco feels that the beautification of the levees
would be in the best interest of the Tri -Cities; and
WHEREAS, the beautification of the levees should be commenced as
soon as practical; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO:
That the Corps of Engineers be requested to commence the beautification
of said levees within the Tri -City Area, as soon as practical.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that other entities in the Tri -City Area
and the Benton -Franklin Governmental Conference are hereby requested to adopt
comparable resolutions and forward same to the Corps of Engineers.
