A RESOLUTION of the City of Pasco expressing the appreciation of the
City and its citizens to the United States Department of Energy for
conducting a tour of the Hanford Reservation and providing vital
information to local elected officials.
WHEREAS, it is necessary and important that local government officials
be informed concerning the plans and projects contemplated and in progress
on the Hanford Reservation; and
WHEREAS, it is equally necessary and important that local government
officials be aware of the progress of the waste management program on the
Hanford, Reservation; and
WHEREAS, knowledge of the diversity of projects on the Hanford Reservation
is essential to the making of governmental decisions affecting the economic
growth and development of the Tri -Cities Area; and
WHEREAS, on July 18, 1979 the United States Department_ of Energy
conducted a tour of the Hanford Reservation for local elected officials and staff
members providing vital information concerning the progress and diversity of
plans, projects and programs on the Hanford Reservation; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO:
The City Council of the City of Pasco, Washington and its citizens express
publicly and formally to the United States Department of Energy their appreciation
and thanks for the conducting on July 18, 1979 of a tour of the Hanford Reservation
providing vital and necessary information for the benefit of local elected officials
and staff members of the Tri -Cities.
