A RESOLUTION expressing the City Council's interest in levee beautification.
WHEREAS, the Army Corps of Engineers has scheduled the Second
Power House Project at McNary Dam; and
WHEREAS, levee beautification along the Columbia River in the McNary
pool in the Tri -Cities is part of the project; and
WHEREAS, levee beautification on the Pasco side of the river is of
particular concern to the City of Pasco; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO:
Section 1. That the beautification of the levee on the Pasco side of
the Columbia River be given a high priority and be funded and constructed in
the earliest possible. time and not in Fiscal Year 1984-1985 a.s presently
planned.
Section 2. That the drainage ditch on the Pasco side of the river is a
public menace and should be covered as a part of the federal project.
Section 3. That the Corps consider making some landscape improvements
around the area known as the "juvenile Fishing Pond".
