CITY OF KENI4EWICK RESOLUTION NO.79-81
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City of Pasco and the City
of I:ennewick to remove the Old Pasco -Kennewick Bridge because of
its impairment to river navigation; and
WHEREAS, the Old Pasco -Kennewick Bridge is an "attractive
nuisance"; and
WHEREAS, The Old Pasco -Kennewick Bridge has been replaced by
the new cable -stayed bridge; and
WHEREAS, the cities have received authorization from the
Department of Transportation to initiate Phase I (historical
preservation requirements) in the total amount of Thirty Thousand
& 00/100 ($30,000.00); and
WHEREAS, the cities have jointly agreed to be responsible for
the local matching monies, equally; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO AND
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENNEWICK AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City of Pasco, on behalf of both cities, it is
to act as lead agency.
Section 2. A separate fund has been established by the City
of Pasco to handle all expenditures connected to the project
(phase I).
Section 3. The City of Pasco, acting as the lead agency, shall
be reimbursed for time and materials.spent in behalf of the project.
Section 4. Authorization for any expenses shall be approved by
the concurring approval of the City Managers of the City of Pasco
and the City of Kennewick.
.Secti.on 5. As the project coordinator, Pyr. Ed Hendler will be
reimbursed his actual expenses for travel, room, and board and any
incidental expenses actually incurred.
It is also understood that Mr. Ed Hendler will act as the
coordinator for this project dnd his time will be charged to the
project at the rate of Twenty -Five & 00/100 ($25.00) per hour, plus
25% for overhead and further, that the local share will be split
on a 50-50 basis.
