HomeMy WebLinkAbout1263 ResolutionRESOLUTION NO. 1263 WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the City of Pasco and its planned redevelopment program at the Pasco Municipal Golf Course to sell certain described real property to Thunderbird Red Lion Motor Inns, and WHEREAS, Thunderbird Red Lion Motor Inns currently occupies approximately 7.8 acres of land by leasing said land from the City of Pasco and now is desirous of purchasing said land from the City of Pasco along with an additional 8.2 acres, and WHEREAS, it would be mutually beneficial to the City of Pasco and the corporation, after proper appraisal by a certified M.A.I., to negotiate sale of said property, NOW, THEREFORE: BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO: Section 1. That the City Manager and his designees hereby are given the authority to negotiate for the sale of the following described city owned property: A portion of Government Lot 2, Section 19, Township 9 North, Range 30 East, W.M., Franklin County, Washington, more particularly described as follows: Commencing at the west quarter corner of said Section 19; thence N 02°03'58" E along the west line of said Section 19, also being the centerline of North 20th Avenue, a distance of 895.65 feet; thence S 87156102" E a distance of 50.0 feet to the easterly right-of-way line of said North 20th Avenue and the true point of beginning; thence continuing S 87°56'02" E a distance of 650.00 feet; thence S 36101'47" E a distance of 1000.12 .feet to a point on the northerly right-of-way line of U.S. Highway 395; thence along the said northerly and easterly right-of-way line of said Highway 395 along the following distances and bearings; N 89°00124" W a distance of 422.00 feet; N 81° 54105" W a distance of 420.00 feet; N 661154102" W a distance of 445.00 feet; thence N 00°32'48" E a distance of 456.28 feet to a point on the easterly right-of-way of said North 20th Avenue; thence N 02103158" E, along said easterly right- of-way line, a=distance of 135.00 feet to the true point of beginning, to Thunderbird, Inc. Said land consists of 7.8 acres which are now being leased by Thunderbird Red Lion Motor Inns from the City of Pasco, along with an additional 8.2 acres. Section 2. It shall be the understanding that the Pasco City Council shall be fully advised as to negotiations and that final approval of the negotiated sales price shall be required from the City Council. -2 - Section 3. A proper appraisal shall be made by a certified, M.A.I:"appraiser �irior to the-"negotiation;s for the -sale of the property.. Section 4. The City Council finds sufficient reason to negotiate the sale of this property because the Thunderbird Red Lion Motor Inns corporation has plans for the major expansion and improvement of the Pasco Red Lion facility so as to provide a significant convention center for the Mid -Columbia area and the Council finds that this improvement is in the public interest of the City of Pasco because of the positive economic impact these improvements will bring.
