WHEREAS, the City of Pasco is desirous to proceed with
removal of the old Pasco -Kennewick Bridge, and
WHEREAS', the Washington State Department of Transportation
has advised that $840,000 is available at a 80/20 matching ratio for
the determination of the final action on the disposition of the old
Pasco -Kennewick Bridge and to remove the bridge if allowed once the
determination is final, and
WHEREAS, the Washington State Department of Transportation
has advised that the first phase of proceeding with the removal of the
old Pasco -Kennewick Bridge would be the completion of the 106 Procedures
of the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation, including all other
work involving environmental considerations; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO:
That it desires to proceed with phase one as advised by the
Washington State Department of Transportation relating to the 106
Procedures of the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation and
therefore authorizes the Mayor of the City of Pasco to jointly act
with the City of Kennewick to sign the Phase I project prospectus and
municipal agreement, a copy of said project prospectus and municipal
agreement is attached hereto, marked Exhibit "A" and "B respectively,
and incorporated herein as though fully set forth.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Pasco this 4 day
of June , 1979.
