HomeMy WebLinkAbout1219 ResolutionRESOLUTION NO. 1219 A RESOLUTION of the City of Pasco concerning cooperation of all area jurisdictions in developing and implementing a plan for the construction, maintenance and operation of a multi -use facility. W H E R EA S , the City of Pasco under date of February, 1975 accepted an analysis for a multi-purpose facility from Ed Hendler at the cost to the City of $10,500; and W H E R E A S , the City of Pa sco cooperatively participated in a community- wide feasibility study conducted by Naramore, Bain, Brady and Johanson in excess of $15,000 dated February 24, 1975; and WHEREAS , the Pasco City Council has been most anxious for the initiation and creation of such a facility for these past four years; and W H E R E A S , the City of Pasco on the date of October 16, 19 78 employed a coordinator to initiate and recommend such plans that are necessary to create such a facility in behalf of the City of Pasco and the entire Tri -Cities and adjacent communities so that all citizens of Pasco and our neighbors can and will enjoy maximum benefits from such a facility; N O W, T H E R E F O R E, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The City of Pasco will continue its efforts to create a multi- purpose facility beneficial to all. Section 2. That the City of Pasco will seek support and counsel from all surrounding jurisdictions both in ideas and monies towards the creation of such a facility. Section 3. That the City.Council of Pasco pledges its support and cooperation to any reasonable and organized public body which has as its goal the ultimate development of such a facility. Section 4. The City Council of Pasco offers to participate in any committee comprised of elected officials from the City of Richland, West Richland, Kennewick and Pasco, and from the Counties of Benton and Franklin, to effectuate a multi-purpose facility that the City of Pasco now currently envisions for the betterment of the entire Tri -Cities. Section 5. The City Council of Pasco, after four years of study and the expenses of two previous preliminary studies made, resolves that the best location for a multi-purpose facility for the benefit of the entire Tri -Cities would be located at what is currently known as the 20th Avenue Municipal Golf Course and airport site. -2 - Section 6. This resolution shall take effect immediately. PA S S E D by the City Council of the City of Pasco this 18 day of December 1978.
