A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER AND
FIRE CHIEF TO STUDY, IN CONCERT WITH OTHER
TRI -CITY OFFICIALS, PROPOSALS FOR TRI -CITY
AMBULANCE SERVICES
WHEREAS, the Cities of Pasco, Kennewick, and Richland have requested
proposals for the providing of ambulance services to the Tri -Cities area; and
WHEREAS, twelve, proposals have been received from eight different states
including the state of Washington; and
WHEREAS, it is desirable that the proposals received be analyzed and
studied by qualified persons to determine the best three or four of those available
and to report back to the various City Councils; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO:
That the City Manager and the Fire Chief of the City of Pasco, in concert
with the City Managers and Fire Chiefs of Kennewick and Richland, are authorized to
determine from among the proposals received or to be received in the future what
services are available, which services will best suit the needs of the Tri -Cities area,
and the anticipated costs of the said services; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the aforementioned City Managers and Fire Chiefs
shall insure that all proposals meet with the minimum requirements of the State of
Washington for emergency medical care, RCW 18.73; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED .that upon completion of their study of the proposals,
the City Manager and Fire Chief shall report back to the City Council concerning their
findings and recommendations.
