WHEREAS it has been determined to be necessary to replace
and/or install grade crossing warning devices at the "A" Street
railroad crossing in the vicinity of First Avenue in the City of
Pasco; and
WHEREAS the City of Pasco and Burlington Northern, Inc., are
eligible for federal funding for the project; and
WHEREAS it will be in the best interest of the City of Pasco
to enter into an agreement with Burlington Northern, Inc., to proceed
with the above referenced project at least through the preliminary
engineering phase of said project; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO:
That the proper officials of the .City of Pasco be and the
same are hereby authorized to execute an agreement with Burlington
Northern, Inc., for the purpose of proceeding with replacing and/or
installing grade crossing warning devices at the railroad crossing
at "A" Street in the vicinity of First Avenue in the City of Pasco;
PROVIDED, HOWEVER, that the City staff has the authority to proceed
only through the preliminary engineering phase of said project and
no further without prior approval of the City Council.
