HomeMy WebLinkAbout1144 Resolution♦ � 1 RESOLUTION NO. 1144 WHEREAS the Council of the City of Pasco has heretofore resolved by Resolution No. 1107 to annex certain real property hereinbelow described to the City of Pasco pursuant to the provisions of R.C.W. 35A.14.295, et seq, and WHEREAS the Council of the City of Pasco,after having given proper notice of hearing and after having conducted a hearing on the proposed annexation, passed Ordinance No. 1908 annexing to the City of Pasco the property described hereinbelow, together with the adoption of the comprehensive plan of the City of Pasco and a zoning classification for the tract of land hereinbelow described as C-3 Zone - General Business, and WHEREAS subsequent to the passage of Ordinance No. 1908 but prior to its taking effect on February 3, 1978, there being filed with the City Clerk of the City of Pasco a valid referendum petition signed by qualified electors in a number equal to not less than 100 of the votes cast in the general election in the area proposed to be annexed, and WHEREAS once the valid referendum'petition is filed, and within 90 days after the filing of said petition, but not less than 45 days therefrom, a general or special election must be conducted regarding the annexation proposition and that Ordinance No. 1908 is suspended from taking effect pending the approval by the voters at the referendum election pursuant to R.C.W. 35A.29.170; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO: That the referendum petition for the proposed annexation of the following described area, situate in Franklin County, Washington: That portion of El/2 of the El/2 of the SW1/4 of the NW1/4 of the SE1/4 lying North of P.S.H. #3 and also the El/2 of the NW1/4 of the NW1/4 of the SE1/4 except the W1/2 of the SE1/4 of the NW1/4 of the NW1/4 of the SE1/4 of Section 25, Township 9 North, Range 29 E.W.M., be submitted to the Auditor of Franklin County for placement on the ballot at an election to be held April 4, 1978, so that the electors within the proposed annexation area may vote for the ballot proposition: "For Annexation and Adoption of Proposed Zoning Regulation" or "Against Annexation and Adoption of Proposed Zoning Regulation" and that the provisions of Chapter 35A.14 R.C.W. and 35A.29 R.C.W. relating to the election method of annexing territory to code cities be fully complied with.
