SUBJECT: INCREASED AMBULANCE CHARGES
Attached is a suggestion for increasing revenue through ambulance
charges. Since the ambulance has never been self-supporting, and
continually subsidized from the General Fund, I would recommend
the ambulance chargesbe increased so that the present level of
services will be self-supporting. The estimated increase in
revenue is $42,890 annually.
This approach includes $3,400 from Fire District No. 3 as in the
past, also charges supplies and materials used.. In the past, the
City has not been charging for materials. Also attached is a list
of supplies and materials and what charges will be paid by Welfare.
I would recommend that our charges be based on these figures.
Increase in Ambulance charges and services which is based on an
$80 charge for residents and $160 for non-residents. Also, it is
based on Medicare's 80% up to a maximum of $70, and Welfare maximum
of $36.90 per call.
