A RESOLUTION DECLARING THE INTENTION OF THE
PASCO CITY COUNCIL TO ADOPT FOR THE CITY OF
PASCO THE CLASSIFICATION OF NON -CHARTERED
CODE CITY, GOVERNED BY THE PROVISIONS OF
CHAPTERS 35A.02 and 35A.13 OF THE REVISED
CODE OF WASHINGTON.
WHEREAS, there is now available to the City of Pasco,
under the provisions of Chapter 35A.02 of the Revised Code of
Washington, the classification of non -chartered code city; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Pasco feels
that adopting such classification will serve the best interests
and general welfare of said City;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE.IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF PASCO, WASHINGTON:
Section 1. That it will serve the best interests and
general welfare bf the City of Pasco to change the classification
of the City of Pasco from -that of a city of the third class to
that of a non-chartered.code city.
Section 2. ,That it is the intention of the Council.
to adopt for the City of Pasco the classification of non -
chartered code city.
Section 3. That also, it is the intention of the
City Council of the City of Pasco to retain the plan of govern-
ment under which the City is presently operating, to -wit:
the council-manager form of government, as authorized for
non -chartered code cities under the provisions of Chapter
35A.13 of the Revised Code of Washington.
Section 4. That the City Clerk is directed to publish
this resolution at least once in the Tri -City Herald, a news-
paper of general circulation within the City of Pasco, within
ten days after the passage hereof.
Section 5. That if no timely and sufficient referendum
petition has been filed, as provided for in Section 35A.02.030,
Revised Code of Washington, and as determined by Section 35A.29.170,
Revised Code of Washington, within 90 days of the firs publication
hereof as aforesaid, that the Council shall by ordinance adopt for
the City of Pasco the classification of non -chartered code city
under the council -'manager plan of government.
