A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF PASCO PROVIDING FOR PARTICIPA-
TION IN TRI -CITIES METROPOLITAN AREA TRANSPORTATION STUDY
AND AUTHORIZING PAYMENT OF CITY SHARE FOR THE CALENDAR YEAR
1975.
WHEREAS, Cities and Counties in the Tri -Cities Urban Area have formed the
Benton -Franklin Governmental Conference and are working cooperatively to
develop plans and participate in joint activities of benefit to the parti-
cipating jurisdictions; and
WHEREAS, An urban area transportation plan is needed as a basis for and
component of long-range plans for the development of the metropolitan area;
and
WHEREAS, Public Law 93-503 provides that a transportation plan is needed
for each urban area and shall be prepared and adopted by a designated metro-
politan planning organization - as a prerequisite to participation in funding
of Federal Highway Programs: NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Participation in the Tri -Mats (Tri -Cities Metropolitan Transpor-
tation Study) is hereby approved.
Section 2. It is agreed that the fiscal year 1976 local cost will be borne
by participating jurisdictions on the basis of their prespective shares of
the study area population, and that the amount of $340.00 will be contributed
by the City of Pasco for the balance of the 1975 calendar year.
Section 3. That this resolution shall be in full force and effect after its
passage as required by law.
