HomeMy WebLinkAbout1002 ResolutionRESOLUTION NO. 1002 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF PASCO DECLARING CERTAIN REAL ESTATE SURPLUS PROPERTY AND PROVIDING FOR THE SALE THEREOF WHEREAS, the City of Pasco has reviewed its ownership of lots 177, 178 and 179, Block 5, Terrace Heights Addition to the City of Pasco, and deems the same is surplus.property and it is in the best interests of the City to dispose of the same, now, therefore, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO does hereby resolve as follows: Section 1: It appears to the City Council that it is for the best interest of the City and people that Lotr.XYk774 IcRgxx=d 179, Block 5, Terrace Heights Addition to the City of Pasco, Franklin County, Washington, should be sold pursuant to Pasco Municipal Code, Chapter.2.46 as that property is hereby found to be surplus property. Section 2: The City Council hereby authorizes the City Clerk to advertise for written competitive bids for the sale of said property with a minimum sale price of $ 22.00, per front foot Section 3. Jackson 1 Executive Director / Dept, of Urban Renewal SUBJECT: Sale of City Owned Property The City of Pasco owns lots 177,'178 and 179, Block 5, Terrace Heights Addition which lies just south, adjacent to a project area homeowner. In order for the homeowner to comply with the Urban Renewal plan, tie desires to purchase the south.twenty-five (25) feet adjoining his pro- perty fora drive -way parking pad. In order for the City to dispose of real property, the Pasco City Code, Chapter.2.46 governs the sale. Generally,.the City Council must declare the property surplus and that it is in the best interest of the City and the people to sell it. (.City Code 2.46.010) The City Council also must fix by resolution a minimum price at which property may be sold. Under the Urban.Renewal Project, the City owns property South of the subject property which have been appraised and have a minimum price of $22.00 per front foot. Attached for your consideration is a draft of a resolution in accordance with the above stated requirements prepared by.the City Attorney. There are other.requirements sited in the Code such"as advertising for bids, posting public notices, setting time and place of bid opening etc., that will be handled by the City Clerk.
