HomeMy WebLinkAbout0988 ResolutionRESOLUTION NO. 988 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF PASCO PERTAINING TO ENTERING INTO AN INTER -LOCAL AGREEMENT FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING A SUMMER DAY CAMP FOR RETARDED CHILDREN AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO SAID AGREE- MENT FOR THE CITY OF PASCO WHEREAS, in the past the cities of Pasco, Kennewick and. Richland, and the Counties of Benton and Franklin have jointly sponsored a summer day camp for retarded children, and WHEREAS, the cost of providing the transportation, teaching salaries, facilities for said program consists of $1,000.00 .for each of the cities of Pasco, Kennewick, Richland and the Counties of Benton and Franklin, and WHEREAS, the City of Pasco desires to continue providing this program for its citizens and wishes to cooperate with the other government entities in this program, NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Pasco does resolve as follows: Section 1. The City Council of. the City of Pasco hereby authorizes and directs the City Manager to execute said inter- local Agreement for the purpose of providing an eight-week summer day camp program for retarded children. Section 2. The City Council of the City of. Pasco hereby authorizes the City to transfer $1,000.00 to a Park Department fundto be used in the above program. Section 3. This resolution shall be in full force and effect after its passage as required by law. Passed and approved this 6 day of May 1_975. Colby, City Mana e Subject: Inter -Local Agreement for Summer Camp At its regular meeting of June 3, 1975, the City Council authorized the signing of the above referenced agreement by Resolution No. 75-47, a copy of which is attached for your information. ti�►�i ,TLP Attachment: Resolution No. 75-47 CITY OF KENNEWICK AGREEMENT FOR SUMMER DAY CAMP FOR RETARDED CHILDREN Pursuant to the authority granted in RCW Title 39.34, the Cities of Pasco, Kennewick, Richland and the Counties of Benton and Franklin hereby agree to the following joint and cooperative action. Each. of the five governmental entities hereby agree to transfer $1,000.00 to a fund to be administered by the :Pasco Parks Department for the purpose of providing an eight-week program .for retarded children in the summer. of 1975. This fund shall be administered by the Pasco Parks Department and all monies committed by the above Cities and Counties shall be used exclusively for said purpose and shall defray the cost of trans- portation, teaching salaries and facilities. Each governmental entity shall be entitled to have retarded children from its jurisdiction attend said summer camp. The summer day camp for retarded children shall consist of an eight-week program, and this Agreement shall terminate after the eight-week program has been completed. The Cities and Counties participating in this program hereby agree to cooperate fully in. executing this program.
