Home My WebLink About0929 ResolutionRESOLUTION N0, 929 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF PASCO ADOPTING THE COMPREHENSIVE SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT PLAN FOR BENTON AND FRANKLIN COUNTIES. WHEREAS, the City of Pasco recognizes that the increase of solid waste production has created a solid waste management problem, and WHEREAS, the number of adequate and appropriately located sites for solid waste disposal is rapidly diminishing within Benton and Franklin Counties, and WHEREAS, it is the wish of the City Council of the City of Pasco to properly assume their responsibility in the area of solid waste disposal management, and WHEREAS, all local governmental jurisdictions within Benton and Franklin counties have jointly undertaken planning toward unified solid waste disposal management, and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Pasco finds that the solid waste management plan, as developed, is in general conformance with the urban area comprehensive plan, NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That the Phase II Solid Waste Management Plan for Benton and Franklin Counties, dated June, 1973 does protect the general health, safety and welfare of the residents of the City of Pasco. Section 2. That the Plan recognizes the importance of suggesting ways to protect the future environmental quality of the City. Section 3. That the Plan represents the most economical and efficient means of collecting and disposing of solid waste material generated within the City. Section 4. That the Plan has been reviewed by a Citizen Advisory Committee representative of the various public and private agencies involved in solid waste management. Section 5. That the Plan was developed in accordance with and meets all the provisions of the 1969 State of Washington Solid Waste Management Act (R.C.W. 70.95). Section 6. That the Plan as finally reviewed and approved was amencbd insofar as it applies to the City of Pasco by deleting Task II as shown on pages 80 and 89 of the report. Section 7. That the Plan, as amended, is hereby approved and adopted by the City of Pasco.
