RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION AMENDING SECTION 3 OF RESOLUTION
NO. 838, BEING A RESOLUTION SETTING FORTH THE
POLICY OF THE CITY OF PASCO FOR WORKING AGAINST
DISCRIMINATION; CREATING A "PASCO ANTIDISCRIMINA-
TION COMMISSION"; PROVIDING FOR THE TERMS OF
OFFICE AND METHOD OF APPOINTMENT; AND SPECIFY-
ING THE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE PASCO
ANTI -DISCRIMINATION COMMISSION.
WHEREAS, The Pasco Anti -Discrimination Commission by vote of
the members of that Commission in their Special Meeting of January 25, 1973
elected to make certain recommendations to the City Council; and
WHEREAS, One of the recommendations was to amend the language
of Section 3 of Resolution No. 838; NOW, THEREFORE
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1 . Section 3 of Resolution No. 838 is hereby amended to read as
follows:
"Section 3. The duties of the Pasco Anti -Discrimination
Commission shall be to implement the policies as re-
cited in Section 1. This shall include the responsibility
to carry out public education programs and to solicit the
cooperation of individuals and organizations in the City
to attain equality of opportunity for all people. The Com-
mission shall report to the City Council whenever recom-
mendations or positions are taken by the Commission on
studies and investigations in which it has participated and
the Commission may make immediate recommendations to
the City Council for appropriate action when necessary."
Section 2. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect after its passage as
required by law.
PASSED by the City Council and APPROVED as provided by law, this
