A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING A DRAFT COPY
OF A SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT PLAN
FOR BENTON AND FRANKLIN COUNTIES AS
CONDUCTED BY BATTELLE MEMORIAL
INSTITUTE UNDER A CONTRACT WITH THE
BENTON-FRANKLIN GOVERNMENTAL CON -
FERENCE .
WHEREAS, the State of Washington Legislature by passage of RCW 70.95
required the development of a comprehensive solid waste management plan by
cities and counties of the state; and
WHEREAS, the Governmental Conference -representing Benton and Franklin
Counties entered into a contract with Battelle Memorial Institute to conduct a
solid waste plan; and
WHEREAS, said plan was presented to the various representatives of Ben-
ton -Franklin Governmental Conference in June of 1971; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary that the City of Pasco accept the draft copy of
the plan prior to its final preparation, NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO RESOLVES:
Section I. That the City Council of the City of Pasco finds the draft copy
of the solid waste management plan for Benton and Franklin Counties as prepared
by Battelle Memorial Institute in accordance with the contract and therefore the
City Council should accept the same.
Section 2. That the said City of Pasco does now accept the work done by
Battelle Memorial Institute by contract with the Benton -Franklin Governmental Con-
ference, as the same has been completed in draft copy form by Battelle Memorial
Institute in accordance with the stipulations set forth by the representatives of the
Benton -Franklin Governmental Conference and RCW 70.95
Section 3. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect after its pas-
sage as required by law.
