HomeMy WebLinkAbout0873 ResolutionRESOLUTION NO, 873 } A RESOLUTION DECLARING THAT A CERTAIN OFFER TO PURCHASE REAL PROPERTY FROM THE CITY AND THE CITY TO SELL CERTAIN OTHER REAL PROPERTY IS ACCEPTABLE AND AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE THEREOF. WHEREAS, the City of Pasco has previously resolved, in Resolution No. 684, that certain blighted areas exist within the City, and that rehabilitation, redevelopment, or a combination thereof, is necessary in the interests of the public health, safety, morals, or welfare of the residents of the City of Pasco, and WHEREAS, Resolution No. 729 has been adopted, providing for public hearings to determine findings regarding urban renewal areas, and WHEREAS, Resolution No. 730 has been adopted, approving the urban renewal plan and feasibility of location, and WHEREAS, the City of Pasco is presently engaged in the construction of Wehe Storm Sewer, Job No. 71-05, which is an integral part of the urban renewal project, and that the acquisition by purchase of the following described real property is vital and necessary to the completion of said project, said property being: That portion lying east of the line parallel with and 40 feet west of the east line of section 29, township 9 north, range 30 east, W.M., of Lots 5 to 12, inclusive, Block 154, Pasco Land Company's First Addition to Pasco, according to plat thereof recorded in volume B of plats, page 39, records of Franklin County, Washington, hereinafter referred to as Parcel No. 1, and WHEREAS, The City of Pasco owns the following described real property: Lots 1, 2, 3 and 4, Block 154, Pasco Land Company's First Addition to Pasco, Except portion thereof lying east of a line drawn parallel with and distant 40 feet west of east line of section 29, township 9 north, range 30 east, W.M., according to plat thereof recorded in volume B of plats, page 39, records of Franklin County, Washington, hereinafter referred to as Parcel No. 2, and WHEREAS, an emergency requiring the sale of said Parcel No. 2 exists because without such sale the purchase of Parcel No. 1 is not possible, and will result in the delay of Wehe Storm Sewer Job No. 71-05, and WHEREAS, the sum of $1,200.00 is a fair price for the purchase of Parcel No. 1, and WHEREAS, the value of Parcel No. 2 is $1,200.00, and that the sale of said parcel at said price is reasonable, and WHEREAS, Parcel No. 2 should be sold to John D. Evans and Bertha Evans, his wife, for $1,200.00, and a conveyance by them to the City of Pasco of Parcel No. 1, in fee simple absolute, and the payment by the City of Pasco to them of the sum of $1,200.00 will satisfy said emergency and result in the timely completion of the Wehe Storm Sewer Job No. 71-05, NOW, THEREFORE, The City Council of the City of Pasco hereby resolves as follows: Section 1. The City of Pasco shall purchase from John D. Evans and Bertha Evans, his wife, for the sum of $1,200.00, that land hereinbefore described as Parcel No. 1, in fee simple absolute. Section 2. The City of Pasco shall sell to John D. Evans and Bertha Evans, his wife, Parcel No. 2 hereinbefore described, for the sum of $1,,/200.00. PASSED by the City Council and APPROVED as provided by law this b day of July, 1971.
