RESOLUTION N0. 868
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OF THE CITY
OF PASCO, WASHINGTON TO APPLY FOR FEDERAL FUNDING FOR
THE CITY OF PASCO PUBLIC WORKS PROJECTS.
WHEREAS, the United States Congress under H. R. 5376, has
provided for three separate but related pieces of legislation includ-
ing the Public Works Acceleration Act Amendments, the Public Works and
Economic Developi7ent Act of 1965 with subsequent amendments; and the
Appalachian Regional Development Act, which legislation provides for
Federal funding of certain Public Works Programs for areas of under-
development and economic distress, and,
WHEREAS, the Benton and Franklin Counties have been classi-
fied eligible for funds from Economic Development Administration,
which substantiates the need for proceeding with Public Works projects
at the earliest possible date, NOW THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO, WASHINGTON DOES HEREBY
RESOLVE:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager of the City of Pasco is
hereby authorized and directed to apply under H. R. 5376, which is
known as the Public Works Acceleration Act Amendments, for Federal
funding for Public Works Projects for the City of Pasco.
SECTION 2. The Public Works Projects for which funding could
be applied for, but not specifically limited to, are as follows:
1. Inter -City Bridge
2. Railroad Overpass for Columbia Street
3. Railroad Overpass for Court Street
4. Youth Center Building
5. Neighborhood Facility Building
6. Indoor Municipal Swimming Pool
7. Trunk Water Lines in accordance with Master Plan.
8. Sanitary Sewer Trunk Lines in accordance with Master Plan.
9. Ice Skating Faci-l-i ty
PASSED By the City Council and APPROVED as provided by
law this 15 day of June ,1971
