HomeMy WebLinkAbout0842 ResolutionRESOLUTION NO. 8X42 A RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR THE CONTINUANCE OF "COURTESY PARKING" IN THE CITY OF PASCO. WHEREAS, the City of Pasco maintains parking meters in the downtown business district, and WHEREAS, the Pasco Chamber of Commerce has proposed, =the- ontinu_ance of'.a, ":Courtesy -Parkin.g<"'. s:y,st'erii�..as -.s,gt forth herein, and WHEREAS, Resolution No. 806 establishing the "Courtesy Parking" system on a trial basis carried a termination date of January 10, 1971 for the policy set forth in that resolution, and WHEREAS, the City Council deems it in the best interests of the City to continue "Courtesy Parking"; NOW, THEREFORE THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The City of Pasco shall accept "Courtesy Parking" envelopes pro- vided by the Chamber of Commerce, and shall further accept lawful United States coins from the Chamber of Commerce. Section 2. The City employee charged with the duty of policing parking meters shall use the coins for correcting parking violations up to a period of one hour and shall place the Chamber envelope in a conspicuous place on the windshield of the vehicle. Section 3. No over -parked vehicle shall be entitled to more than one "Courtesy Parking" correction in any calendar day regardless of location. Section 4. "Courtesy Parking" shall not apply in parking zones marked for limited time occupancy. Section S. The policy set forth in this Resolution shall terminate at midnight, IDeceiriber -3:1 ;-l•97.1 .
